Shree 420 is one of the greatest movies of all time. The movie is masterly
directed by the showman himself and contains classic comedy scenes seemingly
inspired by Charlie Chaplin.
Shree 420 was released in 1955 and was written by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. The
movie has a vey gripping tale of a young, educated and honest man who must
choose the wrong path to get rid of poverty. It is one of the movies where
Raj Kapoor and his inspiration from Socialism is felt most strongly
throughout the film.
The music given by Shankar-Jaikishan contributed in making Shree 420 a top
class social, comedy drama. The film has been copied many times, most
noticably by Aziz Mirza's Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman frm 1992 with Shahrukh
Khan and Juhi Chowla.
